Aviation Advisory & Asset Strategy

Engineering insight. Delivering value.

Independent technical and commercial advisory for critical decisions across the life cycle of engines and aviation assets — with deep specialisation in the CFM56 family. Every one of those decisions carries consequence measured in millions, and should be driven by knowledge, never urgency.

01

Structurally independent

No position with repair stations, brokers, manufacturers or suppliers.

02

CFM56 specialists

The engine family powering the 737NG and A320ceo fleets, module by module.

03

Aligned to the asset

Every recommendation protects client interest and long-term asset value.

01Position

What we are not, and what we are.

Atlas Aero is not an MRO.
Atlas Aero is not an engine broker.
Atlas Aero is not a traditional consulting company.

Atlas Aero is an independent aviation advisory firm specialising in technical intelligence, asset strategy and commercial execution.

Our purpose is to help aviation organisations make better decisions — not to sell them products or maintenance.

02Philosophy

Aviation decisions should never be driven by urgency. They should be driven by knowledge.

Technical expertise without commercial understanding creates unnecessary cost.

An engineering-only view optimises for the shop floor and misses what the decision does to residual value, lease position and return conditions.

Commercial decisions without engineering insight create unnecessary risk.

A transaction-only view optimises for the deal and misses the technical condition that will define the asset's performance for years afterwards.

Unlike many companies in the industry, we do not begin with a product to sell. We begin with one question: what is the best decision for our client?

That philosophy defines everything we do

08

Market Intelligence

Industry insights, technical trends, asset valuations, and strategic recommendations.

04CFM56

A CFM56 is not one asset. It is eight.

Modules with separate lives, separate costs and separate consequences at removal. Advising well means knowing which one the decision actually turns on.

Walk the cross-section — fan to low-pressure turbine — and see where value and risk concentrate.

05Difference

Most companies sell maintenance. Others sell engines. Some sell consulting.
Atlas Aero sells better decisions.

Our independence allows us to evaluate every situation objectively and recommend the solution that creates the greatest technical and commercial value.

We represent our client's interests — not those of repair stations, brokers, manufacturers or suppliers. There is no referral arrangement to protect and no inventory to move.

That independence is our greatest competitive advantage.

07Method

Every engagement follows the same methodology.

1

Understand the asset

We analyse technical condition, maintenance history, records, operational environment and commercial objectives before any option is discussed.

2

Evaluate every option

Rather than forcing one solution, we open every path and hold each to the same four tests. Scroll on.

3

Execute with precision

Once the strategy is defined, we support execution through technical representation, commercial negotiation, project management and coordination with all stakeholders.

Seven paths evaluated for every asset One asset on the left connects by a curve to each of seven possible outcomes on the right: repair, exchange, purchase, sale, lease, life extension and part-out. Each is described in the accompanying text. THE ASSET A Repair B Exchange C Purchase D Sale E Lease F Life extension G Part-out

Seven paths, every time

A shop proposes a shop visit. A broker proposes a trade. We open all seven and hold each to the same four tests.

This is the step that separates an advisor from a supplier, and it is the only part of the method a client cannot buy from anyone with inventory to move. What follows is what each path actually means when the asset in question is a working engine.

Why it matters

An option you never evaluated is an option you paid for anyway, in the form of the one you chose without comparison.

A

Repair

Restore to service with a defined workscope.

The default answer, and often the right one. The risk is not whether it can be done but how far the scope drifts once the module is open and the findings start arriving.

The trade

Known asset, unknown bill. Scope discipline in the findings review is worth more than any negotiation on the original quote.

B

Exchange

Swap for a serviceable unit on commercial terms.

Converts an uncertain shop bill into a known number and returns the aircraft to service faster. What you give up is the specific life and history of the asset you owned.

The trade

Certainty and speed, bought with a premium and with the loss of a life position you may have been counting on.

C

Purchase

Acquire an alternative asset instead of restoring this one.

Sometimes the market is offering a better position than the one you are holding. Worth testing whenever the restoration estimate approaches the cost of a different asset in better condition.

The trade

Resets the life position entirely, at the cost of capital and of the diligence a new asset requires.

D

Sale

Divest at the current market position.

Selling before a shop visit transfers the cost, but a competent buyer prices that cost in. The question is never whether to sell, but what condition maximises net proceeds.

The trade

Immediate exit, at a discount that reflects everything you already know and some things the buyer will assume.

E

Lease

Cover the requirement without capital commitment.

Frequently the quiet winner during transitions and unscheduled removals: it buys the time to make the technical decision properly instead of under schedule pressure.

The trade

Protects the operation and the decision timeline. Costs cash flow and adds a return condition of its own.

F

Life extension

Buy time deliberately rather than by default.

Green time management. Flying the life you already own instead of purchasing life you may never recover — the dominant strategy late in an asset's life.

The trade

Cheap and rational while the life exists. Becomes expensive the moment it runs out in the wrong place.

G

Part-out

Realise value where the sum of the modules exceeds the whole.

With CFM56 fleets retiring, this is no longer the option of last resort. Serviceable modules and used serviceable material frequently outvalue the assembled asset.

The trade

Ends the asset's life on your terms and at a number you can verify. Irreversible, and it forecloses every other path.

Brand promise

Every recommendation we make serves one purpose: protect our client's interests while maximising long-term asset value.
